BPS Live!

Our The Show option put to work for Blackhawk Plastic Surgery

For the past year, we’ve produced a monthly livestream for Dr. Stephen J. Ronan of Blackhawk Plastic Surgery in Danville, CA. Filmed in the office lobby, BPS Live! features Dr. Ronan and co-host Brette Julian, his patient coordinator, blending procedure info with personality to strengthen his brand and convert patients.

Project Goals

The goals of BPS Live! were to position Dr. Ronan as an authority in his field while providing potential patients with engaging, informative content about plastic surgery procedures.

Concept and Strategy Development

BPS Live! is styled like a TV talk show, filmed in Dr. Ronan’s lobby to leverage its inviting design and warm colors, which create a comforting atmosphere for viewers. Adding Brette brings out Dr. Ronan’s softer, more humorous side, allowing him to connect with the audience beyond just discussing procedures and medical terminology. Guests share their firsthand experiences, and other office staff are featured to break down complex information into easily digestible segments.

Engagement and Interaction

Each episode includes a Q&A segment where viewers can ask questions after learning about the technical aspects of the procedures. To ensure key information is covered, we also compile a list of commonly asked questions from previous patients and weave those into the segment.

Post-Show Uploads and Performance Metrics

The show is broadcast live on the practice’s YouTube channel via YouTube Live, providing viewers with a familiar platform and encouraging subscriptions for future uploads. YouTube Live also offers valuable analytics, allowing us to track viewer engagement, watch time, and the effectiveness of various marketing platforms.

After each episode airs, the Q&A segment is edited into individual questions and uploaded across YouTube, Instagram, and other social media channels. Each episode typically produces around 15 Q&A videos, along with an edited version of the full show that corrects technical issues or host errors.

Since the show’s launch in January 2024, YouTube subscribers have increased by 213%, watch time has grown by 223%, and views have risen by 150% compared to the previous year.

Results and Impact

While the numbers may not scream ‘viral,’ the long-term strategy of building Dr. Ronan’s brand and expanding content ensures steady growth in the years ahead. Additionally, patients who booked consultations after watching BPS Live! consistently mentioned how informative and enjoyable the show was. This has resulted in a nearly 100% conversion rate from consultation to procedure, as trust was established with Dr. Ronan well before the initial consultation.

As BPS Live! approaches its first anniversary with nearly 200 videos produced from fewer than a dozen episodes, we anticipate accelerated growth in both viewership and patient consultations as our content library and exposure continue to expand.
